37 Teams Competed in the 2023 Southeastern Regional Health Improvement Case Competition
In 2023, 147 students, grouped into 37 teams, representing five institutions and 16 disciplines competed for a prize pool of $8,500. Their goal was to develop a strategic approach to mitigate the impact of AMC’s closure on Atlanta’s healthcare systems and manage the care of their patient populations.
And on March 30th, 2023 , five finalist teams assembled at the School of Public Health to compete in the 2023 Emory x GT IHI Case Competition.
Two teams, Baby Steps GA and Community Connect, tied for first place. Both took $3,750 home for their innovative proposals.

Nearly 100 students who represented 9 different disciplines participated in the first inaugural Southeastern Regional Health Improvement Case Competition.
The competition in 2022 challenged students to develop a novel solution that addressed disparities in diabetes care within the Georgia population. The first- and second-place teams won a total cash prize of $7,500.
