  • Bhavin Adyharu, MD

    Dr. Adhyaru joined Emory in 2011 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital. He completed residency at Emory with distinction in Quality Improvement & Patient Safety. Adhyaru teaches residents, medical students, and leads the Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) and Quality Improvement curricula. His research interests include heart failure management, type 2 diabetes treatment, and dyslipidemia. He is co-authoring a textbook on EBM applications and principles. Adhyaru has received several teaching awards, including Best Outpatient Teaching, Best Inpatient Attending, and the Golden Apple Award at Grady. He has mentored over 40 trainee presentations at national conferences.

  • Maryam Alavi, PhD

    Maryam Alavi is a Professor of IT Management and former Dean (2014-2023) at Georgia Tech's Scheller College of Business and holds the Elizabeth T. and Tom M. Holder Chair at the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Institute of Technology. A thought leader on digital innovation and transformation, her research has received over 37,450 citations, placing her in the top 2% globally. Alavi has published extensively, served on prestigious editorial boards, and is a sought-after speaker and executive advisor. She has received numerous honors, including the AIS Fellow Award, Marvin Bower Faculty Fellowship at Harvard, and Georgia Tech's Diversity Champion Faculty Award. Alavi has served on advisory boards for institutions like Queen's University and the Politecnico di Milano School of Management. She holds a B.A. from SUNY Buffalo and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University.

  • Camille Vaughan, MD

    E. Camille Vaughan, MD, MS is an Associate Professor and Division Director in Geriatrics and Gerontology at Emory University. She earned her MD/MS from Emory and completed residency/fellowship training there. Vaughan serves as the Atlanta Site Director for the Birmingham/Atlanta VA Geriatric Research Center. As a clinician-investigator, her research focuses on optimizing care for older adults with multiple chronic conditions, urinary symptom management in Parkinson's disease, and safe prescribing for older adult ED patients. She receives funding from the VA, NIH, and AHRQ. Vaughan practices at the Atlanta VA, Emory clinics, and teaches trainees.

  • Corrine Abraham, DNP, RN

    Corrine Abraham's interests include quality and safety education, exploring pedagogy for adult and experiential learning to teach interprofessional teamwork, safety, and quality improvement methods. As an educator, she led integration of simulation and quality/safety competencies into nursing curricula. Her expertise in improvement science led to roles directing Emory's DNP Program, developing faculty competency in quality improvement, and co-investigating interprofessional education initiatives. Abraham utilizes implementation science theories and methods to understand barriers and facilitators impacting interventions in various care settings. Recently, she co-led redesigning a model of care for patients with cognitive disorders.

  • Victoria Phillips, PhD

    Dr. Victoria Phillips is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University. She specializes in the areas of evaluation and economic evaluation. She currently works as a guest researcher in the Division of Integrated Surveillance Systems and Services in the National Center for Public Health Informatics.

  • Fred Sanfilippo, MD, PhD

    Dr. Fred Sanfilippo's career has been as a physician-scientist and academic leader. He is also the Director of the Emory-Georgia Tech Healthcare Innovation Program, which has been developed with support from the Woodruff Fund and in coordination with the Georgia CTSA to enhance innovation in healthcare delivery research, education, and service. As a leader, Dr. Sanfilippo has been active in academic medicine, transplantation, and pathology. He has served on the editorial board of 13 professional journals, been invited to speak at some 200 academic and scientific venues, and elected president of seven academic and professional organizations.

  • Victoria Jordan, PhD, MBA

    Dr. Victoria Jordan is Vice President – Quality and Patient Safety at Emory Healthcare where she leads the development, coordination, and implementation of quality improvement efforts across Emory Healthcare. This includes strategic oversight of quality initiatives across Emory’s eleven hospitals and over 300 primary care and specialty clinics. The Office of Quality includes patient safety and infection prevention, process improvement, regulatory compliance, quality education, and clinical quality analytics.

    Dr. Jordan received her Ph.D. from Auburn University in Industrial and Systems Engineering with an emphasis in applied statistics and received the Auburn University Distinguished Alumna of the Year Award for Industrial and Systems Engineering in 2017. She holds an M.B.A. from the Ohio State University, an M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University, and a B.S. from the University of Kentucky in Statistics. Prior to her work in healthcare, she worked in manufacturing, consulting, and in academia.

  • Theresa Gillespie, PhD

    Theresa W. Gillespie is the Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. She has over 30 years of experience in clinical oncology and health services research. Dr. Gillespie received her PhD in Educational Studies and Research Measurement from Emory University and has held leadership roles in developing clinical research programs. Her research focuses on cancer prevention, screening, treatment decisions, and reducing disparities. Currently, she leads efforts to engage underserved communities in clinical trials and provide cancer education. Dr. Gillespie also mentors students and junior researchers and has received several awards for her contributions to oncology nursing and research.

  • Neal Dickert, MD, PhD

    Dr. Dickert is an Associate Professor of Medicine in Cardiology at Emory University, with appointments in Epidemiology, Ethics, and the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Institute. He is Interim Director of the Emory Health Services Research Center and leads core facilities for the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance. A board-certified cardiologist, his research focuses on ethical issues in cardiology practice and clinical research, particularly informed consent challenges in acute care settings, investigators' responsibilities for ancillary care, shared decision-making, and incentives for research recruitment.

  • Ingrid Duva, RN, PhD

    Dr. Duva is an Assistant Professor at Emory University's School of Nursing. She holds a BSN from the University of Florida, and an MN and PhD from Emory. With management and consulting experience, she became interested in health services research. Dr. Duva was a National Quality Scholar, gaining expertise in quality improvement and leading organizational change in healthcare. Her work also involves policy and advocacy to improve children's health through school nursing programs in local communities.

  • Jon Duke MD, MS

    Dr. Jon Duke is the director of the Center for Health Analytics and Informatics at Georgia Tech Research Institute. Before joining Georgia Tech in 2016, he worked as a physician and researcher in medical environments. His research focuses on identifying patients of interest from diverse data sources for applications in research, quality, and clinical domains. He has led over $21 million in funded research and was a founding member of OHDSI, an open-source health data analytics collaborative.

  • Joe Sharma, MD

    Jyotirmay (Joe) Sharma, MD, FACS, is Professor and William C. McGarity Chair of Surgery in the Division of General and GI Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. He serves as Director of Thyroid and Endocrine Surgery at Emory University Hospital. Dr. Sharma chairs the Wound Infection Group focused on reducing surgical site infections. He participates in Emory Medishare's surgical trips to Haiti. His clinical expertise includes outpatient parathyroidectomies, thyroidectomies, and adrenalectomies using minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Sharma received his MD from the University of Alabama and completed his surgery residency at Emory. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and has received awards including Best Doctors of America.

  • Vikas Sukhatme, MD, ScD

    Vikas P. Sukhatme, MD, ScD, is a full-time faculty member and physician-scientist at Emory School of Medicine with an extensive background in collaborative biomedical research and translational medicine. He served as Dean of Emory School of Medicine and chief academic officer of Emory Healthcare from 2017 to 2023, overseeing tremendous growth in research funding, eminent faculty recruitment, and the launch of new education and diversity initiatives. Prior to Emory, Dr. Sukhatme was chief academic officer and faculty dean at Harvard Medical School from 2009 to 2017. A strong proponent of using innovation to make healthcare more accessible, in 2022 he co-founded the Morningside Center for Innovative and Affordable Medicine with his wife to advance research on drug repurposing.

  • Nancye Feistritzer, DNP

    Nancye Feistritzer, DNP, RN, NEA-BC is the Vice President of the Center for Care Delivery and Innovation at Emory Healthcare. In this role, she leads core nursing initiatives and advancements in professional development, nursing practice, clinical excellence, and nursing science across care settings. Feistritzer joined Emory in 2014 as VP/Chief Nursing Officer, overseeing three Magnet-designated hospitals. Her accomplishments include enabling an environment that produced multiple ANCC Nurses of the Year, leading COVID-19 response efforts, and bed expansion projects. Feistritzer serves on state nursing workforce/leadership boards. She holds a DNP from Vanderbilt, MSN from George Mason, and BSN from Western Kentucky University.
